- NZS 1170.7 (Section 3.8 a. i.)
- Our Double Rail barrier will withstand a 30kN impact (equivalent of a 3-ton vehicle directly impacting the barrier at 7.2km per hour.)
- Our Single Rail barrier will withstand a 40kN impact. (equivalent of a 4-ton vehicle directly impacting the barrier at 7.2km per hour.)
Steel Traffic Barriers:
Why Astrolift
Unlike road-barrier style systems, GuardX rails are rolled under at the top providing a smooth and safe to grip as a hand rail – Eliminating the need to install an additional hand rail.
Our barrier design stipulates a post at the end of every rail, this gives extra strength and protects the most vulnerable points.

Steel Barrier Benefits
High Impact Strengh
The single traffic barrier withstands impact from small to medium size vehicles with a low centre of gravity, while the double rail barrier is for higher centre of gravity impacts or walkways along impact areas.
The height of the lower rail is designed to act as a staop for standard pallets.
Barrier Fixing And Coating Options
- Finish: Powder-coated / Galvanised / Powder-coated over Galvanised.
- Pre-drilled and tapped
- Centre/end posts come pre-drilled and tapped on two sides with plugs for surplus holes. Hardware supplied includes rail mounting bolts and anchor bolts for securing to the floor.
Steel Barrier Compliance
Complies with Section 6.2.1.4 of AS/NZS 1657
Complies with Section 6.2.1.4 of AS/NZS 1657 (legislation pertaining to guard rails for heights) Regarding minimum rail and infill rail heights for hand/guard rail, as we feel that this section is relevant to worksite traffic management barrier.
Complies with NZS 1170.1, Section 3.8 a) i).
This means the barrier will withstand a 30kN impact, which is the equivalent to a 3-ton vehicle directly impacting the barrier at 7.2km/ hr.
The single-rail GuardX traffic barrier also complies with NZS 1170.1, Section 3.8 b)
This implies the ability to withstand an impact of 40kN. This is the equivalent to a 4-ton vehicle directly impacting the barrier at 7.2km/hr.
